Family Desperately Searching for Missing Senior Six Vacationist Christine Naluyange

The family of 19-year-old Christine Lizz Naluyange, a Senior Six vacationist and former student of Bishop Cipriano Kihangire Secondary School in Bbiina, has launched a search for her whereabouts after she failed to return home last week.
Naluyange was last seen on the morning of Thursday, 5 June 2025, after she disappeared the previous evening.
Her elder sister, Joan Ruth Nassiwa, said the family began searching immediately after realising she had not returned home on Wednesday night.
“One of her close friends told us she saw Christine on Thursday morning,” Nassiwa said.
“She looked happy and was joking around. She even used her friend’s phone to chat with some of her other friends. After that, she left, and no one knows where she went.”
That brief encounter is the last known moment anyone saw Naluyange.
The family also reports that Naluyange’s mobile phone was off throughout Wednesday but was switched on again on Thursday night.
It remained active until Friday evening before going off again. Both her MTN and Airtel numbers are currently unreachable.
“We tried calling several times while it was on, but we couldn’t get through,” Nassiwa said. “Now both lines are off again, and we’ve had no further contact.”
Naluyange’s father reported a missing person case at Mutungo Police Station on Saturday, June 7. Officers acknowledged the report and assured the family that investigations were underway.
Contacted on the matter, Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said he would look into it but had not reverted by press time, while Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said he had contacted the territorial police and was awaiting their feedback.
Friends describe Naluyange as cheerful, social, and grounded, with no history of leaving home without informing her family.
She had recently completed her A-Level and was spending her vacation at home.
“We are very worried, but we are trying to stay hopeful,” Nassiwa said.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen her or who knows anything about her movements to please come forward. Any information could help.”
Naluyange was reportedly dressed in casual clothes at the time of her disappearance. The fact that her phone was briefly active has raised hopes that she may still be within reach, though her exact location remains unknown.
The family has turned to social media and community networks to raise awareness, sharing her photo and appealing for assistance in tracing her.
Anyone with information about Christine Lizz Naluyange is urged to report to the nearest police station or contact her family directly.
