Controversy Erupts as Police Discover Deadly Russian Weapon at Alien Skin Property

A surprising and worrying incident happened on July 1 at the construction site of famous and controversial Ugandan singer Alien Skin, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana. Workers at his site in Makindye, a Kampala suburb, found what turned out to be a deadly Russian-made hand grenade.
A video posted online by media personality Erich Mbowa showed Alien Skin holding the grenade casually while making a phone call and even joking around with his team. In one shocking moment, he pretended to throw the grenade at someone, which caused panic among viewers.
Many people online were quick to criticize his careless behavior, especially because such a device can be very dangerous and deadly.
Police say the grenade was discovered around 3:30 PM by construction workers who were digging a foundation. When the police arrived at the scene, Alien Skin reportedly handed over the grenade to them. The officers immediately asked him to put it down safely.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the area was quickly sealed off. The Police Bomb Squad then came and safely carried out a controlled explosion of the grenade. Later, it was confirmed to be a Russian hand-thrown grenade.
SSP Onyango used the moment to warn the public: "Do not touch or move suspicious objects. Always call the police right away."
The timing of this discovery is especially worrying. It comes just weeks after a bomb exploded on Martyrs Day, killing two people.
There have also been other violent incidents in Kampala recently, adding to fears about the city’s safety. Police are still investigating whether the grenade found at Alien Skin’s site is linked to any of those cases.
The public is urged to stay alert and report anything suspicious, as investigations continue
