Police Arrest Taxi Driver and Conductor Over Dangerous TikTok Stunt in Nsambya

Police have arrested a taxi driver and conductor after a video showed a man sitting on a wooden chair placed on top of a moving taxi in Nsambya. The video was widely shared on TikTok.
The vehicle, registration number UAZ 910B, was identified through CCTV and later impounded. Police confirmed that the driver and conductor are in custody.
According to Traffic Police spokesperson SP Michael Kananura, the man seen in the video is a TikTok content creator. He reportedly paid UGX 20,000 to the driver and conductor to allow him to perform the act.
The suspects are being charged under Section 117 (1) and (2) of the Traffic and Road Safety Act (CAP. 347) for carrying a person in a dangerous manner. Police are also looking for the content creator, who will face the same charges once found.
SP Kananura said the suspects will appear in court. He called the act reckless and warned that such behaviour puts lives at risk.
He urged content creators and the public to respect traffic laws and avoid actions that endanger others.
