The Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) has a new champion at the helm, with renowned city lawyer and businessman Hon Kwesiga Ronald taking over as Vice President of the Board. Kwesiga’s appointment is set to transform the organisation and Uganda’s business landscape.

The UNCCI is a vibrant organization focused on enhancing business opportunities. Dedicated to ensuring their members take advantage of business opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally , the Chamber is over 80 years old as a nationwide umbrella organization for the private sector.

Kwesiga is a prominent lawyer by profession, a practicing Advocate, a licensed Investment Advisor and businessman.

Stakeholders say Kwesigwa’s experience and exposure will strengthen the private sector in Uganda, through emphasis of trade promotion, industrial development, effective advocacy for sustainable economic policies, and a conducive climate for economic development.

Kwesiga is the Chairman of Sail Group of companies which holds interest in Security, Courier Service, Finance, Business Consulting, Technology, Cleaning and hygiene services, media as well as Trade and Distribution.

His also a co-founder of Ripples Foundation a charitable organization that supports the less privileged and is also a distinguished Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Munyonyo and major gifts giver.

Married with Children, Kwesiga was recently elected National Publicity Secretary of the NRM Entrepreneurs League in one of toughest league elections.

He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Laws, a Diploma in Legal Practice and is Chartered Investment and Securities Exchange Fellow.

UNCCI’s main objective is to promote and protect the interests of the business community, particularly its members who are represented in all sectors of the economy.

The various sectors include internal and external trade, industry, tourism and, transport, services. UNCCI puts focus on advocating for appropriate economic policies and interventions that encourage a favorable business and investment climate and working with its members to enhance their capacity to grow and run efficiently. Most importantly UNCCI works with other key partners and players to ensure the enabling environment for the sustainability of the private sector-led growth.
