KAJJANSI: Police Hunt Boda Boda Rider Suspected of Killing Girlfriend
Police in Kajjansi have launched a manhunt for a boda boda rider suspected of killing his girlfriend, following an incident reported at Bwebajja Police Post on January 2.
The deceased has been identified as Halima Nampera, a 38-year-old businesswoman and resident of Kasenge, Entebbe Municipality in Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Nampera was last seen on the night of December 31, 2025, after being picked up from her home by her suspected boyfriend, Gumisiriza Moses, a boda boda rider. She failed to return home, prompting concern and a search by relatives.
“On January 2, 2026, the deceased was found dead in a rental house in Bwebajja Cell, Kajjansi Town Council,†Owoyesigyire said.
Police said the body was discovered in the bathroom with visible signs of strangulation.
A team of detectives and Scenes of Crime Officers visited the scene, recorded statements from witnesses, and conveyed the body to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The suspect is currently on the run, and police say efforts to track and arrest him are ongoing.
