Ministers Kadaga, Namuganza Boycott Museveni’s Meeting with Busoga NRM Leaders in Iganga
The NRM party National Chairman and Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned warring NRM leaders’ factions in Busoga Sub region on the negative impact of their endless bickering to their Party and socioeconomic transformation of their people.
His comments followed the absence of First Deputy Premier and Minister in Charge of East African Affairs as well as Kamuli woman Member of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga and state minister for housing and Urban Development and Bukono constituency MP in Namutumba district Princess Persis Namuganza as he was meeting party leaders from Busoga region on Saturday 10th January 2026 at Iganga SS playground.
President Museveni Candidate implored leaders in Busoga Sub region to be humble and focused on core leadership interests for their communities if they are to be of any significance.
During the engagement Museveni explained that the NRM politics of unity and patriotism is evidence of the type of leadership Uganda desires to continue with its development and socioeconomic transformation and has advised NRM leaders in Busoga Sub region to stick to the NRM line.
“Because of the divisions here in Busoga you see Namuganza is not here, I spoke to my sister Rebecca Kadaga and said would you attend the meeting and she told me she wasn’t invited, then I called the Speaker Anita Among to ask why Kadaga wasn’t invited. She said all NRM flag bearers had been invited. I got back to my sister Kadaga and told her that you were invited as a flagbearer then she asked from where, radio or what?” explained President Museveni.
The president then tasked the NRM Chairperson Iganga district Hajji Abubaker Walubi to explain the criteria used to invite the members who responded and said the organizing committee worked hand in hand with the RDCs and DISOs from Busoga region
