Racheal Balimwezo, the wife of newly elected Kampala Mayor Ronald Balimwezo, has opened up about the moment she knew he was the man for her, revealing that his strength, confidence, and determination despite his physical disability won her heart.

Speaking during an interview on Sanyuka TV, Racheal shared that she first noticed Balimwezo while he was out campaigning.

During one of his public addresses, the then aspirant removed his artificial leg and told the crowd that he was a victim of poor roads, a moment that left a deep impression on her.

I was so touched. I remember thinking about how a handsome man was amputated. I felt bad about it.

However, it was what followed that completely changed her perception. Racheal revealed that when the campaign team set off, Balimwezo mounted a bicycle and rode ahead, leaving behind a man with two fully functioning legs.

He left him very far behind, and I wondered how he did it.

Her admiration grew even stronger later that day when she realized that the same man she had seen cycling was now driving her home.

When it was time to go home, I waited for the driver, but when I looked in front, it was the same man with one leg seated on the steering wheel.

That moment, according to Racheal, sealed everything.

He took my heart there and then because he is very strong, doesn’t pity himself, believes in himself, he is a go-getter, and he fights for whatever he wants. I just knew he was my kind of boy.
