DJ Jacob Omutuzze Cries Foul After Losing Bunamwaya Division LC3 Chairmanship
Popular media personality DJ Jacob Omutuzze is a disappointed man after losing his Bunamwaya Division LC3 Chairmanship seat in elections held earlier this week on Wednesday.
Omutuzze, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, was defeated by the ruling party candidate Namala Betty of the NRM, bringing his tenure in office to an unexpected end.
Following the announcement of the results, DJ Jacob did not take the loss lightly and immediately cried foul, accusing electoral officials of widespread malpractice.
According to Omutuzze, the election was marred by ballot stuffing, voter bribery, intimidation, and what he termed as deliberate manipulation at the tally centre.
“It has been the worst election I have ever witnessed. I won despite all the malpractice, including voter bribery and intimidation. But I was cheated at the tally centre when the returning officer decided to declare the NRM candidate,” Omutuzze claimed.
The outspoken DJ further insisted that he actually won the race on ground but was unfairly robbed of victory by electoral officials.
Jacob Omutuzze has been serving as the LC3 Chairman of Bunamwaya Division, making the loss even more painful for his supporters, who expected him to retain the seat.
The outcome has since sparked debate on social media, with fans and political observers calling for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
