Green Daddy accuses Mulago hospital of medical negligence after newborn’s death

Singer Green Daddy, born Vincent Kibalama, has publicly expressed his frustration with medical staff at Mulago National Referral Hospital following the tragic loss of his newborn child.

In video clips that have since gone viral on social media, Green Daddy is seen emotionally addressing the public, raising serious concerns about the treatment of patients, especially infants, at the hospital.

He accused medical doctors of being indifferent to the suffering of patients and their families.

The singer questioned the hospital’s status as a specialized facility, saying it failed to live up to that standard.

He revealed that when he asked a doctor whether his child could receive special attention, he was told there was no such provision and that all patients are treated the same, an explanation that left him deeply disappointed.

Despite being urged to calm down during the emotional encounter, Green Daddy refused to back down.

He also called out hospital security guards, whom he alleged attempted to assault him as he recorded the video to document what he described as poor treatment of patients.

According to Green Daddy, at least four newborn babies were confirmed to have died during the same period, which he attributed to negligence by medical staff at the hospital.

Reflecting on his personal experience, the singer noted that although he previously performed at President Yoweri Museveni’s 2026 presidential campaign rallies and earned money from those engagements, his status did not spare him from the harsh realities faced by ordinary Ugandans.

He said his visit to Mulago exposed the struggles many citizens endure when seeking medical care, often without the support they desperately need.
