Kole, Uganda — In a remarkable display of commitment to academic excellence, Mr.Ambrose Ogwal, the Executive Director of Wisdom High School, in Koke District on Tuesday 24th March, 2026 announced a reward of 41 million shillings aimed at celebrating the school’s outstanding academic performance in the 2025 national examinations. This initiative, which includes financial rewards for both students and teachers, underscores the institution’s rapid ascent within Uganda’s educational landscape.

During a special thanksgiving prayer ceremony held in the school on Tuesday, Ogwal revealed that each of the eight students who achieved 20 points at the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) will receive a cash reward of 750,000 shillings. In addition to the students, teachers who played a pivotal role in this academic success were also recognized for their dedication and hard work.

“This reward system is not just about recognition; it is about motivating our learners and staff to strive for excellence. We believe that discipline, teamwork, and a strong culture of prayer are essential for our success,” Ogwal stated during the ceremony held on the school campus.

Wisdom High School, which has consistently improved its academic results for swveral yera consecutively, is maintaining affordable fees, and is currently celebrated as the top institution in Northern Uganda. According to rankings published by major print media, the school stands out not only regionally but also nationally, having recently achieved the 12th position in Uganda for the UACE exams.

The school’s remarkable performance this year is attributed to a rigorous academic system that transformed 438 candidates, with all passing in Division One – a testimony to the institution’s commitment to educational excellence. The school reported impressive results, including 16 candidates securing 19 points, 21 achieving 18 points, and 29 with 17 points. This steady increase in top scorers is evident as the numbers rose from one in 2023 to six in 2024 examinations.

Director Ogwal emphasized the importance of maintaining affordable education, stating, “While many top schools charge over 2.3 million shillings in fees, we have kept ours around 1 million shillings. Our mission is to provide quality education that is accessible to ordinary Ugandan families.”

He also expressed a desire to elevate Wisdom High School’s status even further, aiming to outperform leading educational institutions in Eastern Uganda. He acknowledged the competition posed by schools like Amus College but remains optimistic and focused on improvement.

“We are on a journey to becoming national champions, not just in Northern Uganda and but across the entire country,” he remarked.

The Director’s vision for the school extends beyond academic excellence. He highlighted the establishment of a 10,000-seat mega stadium, now beeing constructed in phases, which will support talent development in sports and other fields in Northwrn Uganda. The first phase of this ambitious project is estimated to cost 189 million shillings, with a total budget of approximately 900 million shillings.

Rev. Johnson Ogema of Victory Outreach Ministry, who officiated at the thanksgiving and belated Women’s Day celebration, commended Director Ambeose Ogwal and his wife, Dr. Linda Ogwal, for their pioneering efforts in transforming the educational landscape of Uganda. He urged the community to embrace values of prayer, worship, and gratitude.

Complimenting the school’s initiatives, Ajuri County MP-elect Hon. Fred Jalameso praised the collective efforts of the school’s leadership and stakeholders, stating, “These achievements are a reflection of shared vision and commitment. Students must remain disciplined and focused if they wish to continue excelling.”

Founded in 2018, Wisdom High School has rapidly grown to accommodate nearly 2,000 students, establishing its reputation as one of the most promising academic institutions in the region. As the school continues to foster a spirit of excellence, it remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will make a significant impact on Uganda’s future.
