Kireka: Police Arrest Prime Suspect in Murder of Local Gov’t Official
Police in Kireka have arrested a key suspect in connection with the murder of a local government official who was fatally stabbed last week.
The incident occurred on March 26, 2026, at around 6:00am in Kamuli A Zone, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. The victim, identified as 44-year-old Omaido Moses, sustained a fatal stab wound and later died from his injuries.
According to preliminary police findings, the attack followed a misunderstanding at the victim’s residence involving two suspects, Agadi Oliver and Aliya Nakimera.
Agadi Oliver was earlier arrested to assist with investigations.
In the latest development, police confirmed the arrest of the prime suspect, Aliya Nakimera, who had fled to Mityana District after the incident. She is now in custody and is expected to be charged.
