EPL: Rayan Cherki surpasses Bruno Fernandes’ record, makes history

Manchester City attacking midfielder, Rayan Cherki, on Sunday, surpassed Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes’ double-plus assists this season.

The 22-year-old achieved this feat after his impressive display for Manchester City against Chelsea.

According to OptaJoe, Cherki has assisted two plus goals in four different matches this season, the most of any Premier League player across all competitions.

The France international is one ahead of Fernandes, who has assisted two goals in three different matches for the Red Devils.

Also, Cherki is the first player to reach 10 plus assists in his debut Premier League season since former West Ham star Dimitri Payet in 2015-16.

Cherki joined Man City from Lyon last year, and he has been impressive for Pep Guardiola’s side so far.
