Nakalema meets Forbes Africa team to shape 2026 investment outlook

State House Investors Protection Unit head Edith Nakalema has engaged the Forbes Africa editorial team ahead of its Uganda 2026 Report, outlining efforts to strengthen investor protection, curb fraud, and position Uganda as a competitive destination amid its emerging oil economy.

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Colonel Edith Nakalema, on Thursday held a high-level engagement with Camila Zambrano, Savannah Tombazzi, and Ilaria dal Toso from Forbes Africa ahead of the upcoming Uganda 2026 Report.

The meeting focused on Uganda’s evolving investment landscape and the country’s efforts to position itself as a secure and competitive destination for both local and international investors.

Discussions highlighted the role of the StateState House Investors Protection Unit in safeguarding investor interests and advancing transparency, accountability, and inclusive economic growth, particularly as Uganda approaches its first oil milestone.

Key areas of the engagement included ongoing initiatives to combat investment fraud, strengthen public awareness, and reinforce investor confidence across sectors.

The parties also explored strategic priorities expected to shape Uganda’s investment environment over the next three to five years.

Nakalema underscored the Unit’s commitment to protecting investors and fostering trust in the economy.

“We remain focused on strengthening investor protection, enhancing transparency, and ensuring that Uganda continues to offer a safe and competitive environment for investment,” she said.

The forthcoming Uganda 2026 Report is expected to provide deeper insights into the country’s economic transformation journey, including its positioning as an emerging investment hub, strengthened institutional frameworks, and efforts to empower the public through awareness and accountability initiatives.
