Spice Diana demands payment on stage, confiscates venue equipment
Singer Spice Diana, born Hajjara Namukwaya, found herself at the center of controversy after demanding her performance balance while still on stage during an event in Bukomansimbi District.
The “Siri Regular†hitmaker paused her performance to call out both the venue manager and the event organizer, insisting that her outstanding payment be cleared before she could proceed with the show.
In a dramatic moment witnessed by revelers, Spice Diana threatened to leave with the venue’s sound speakers if her balance was not paid, saying it was the only way to ensure mutual understanding between her and the organizers.
Addressing the crowd, she defended her actions, explaining that her demands were rooted in professionalism and responsibility.
I’m a peaceful woman, calm and simple because I grew up in the ghetto raised by a single mother. I’m very polite depending on how you handle me.
Now I’m leaving this venue with these speakers because I want my balance. I have workers and children I look after who need to be fed. I used my fuel to come here, and this is my job.
The singer emphasized that performing is her primary source of income and that artists deserve to be paid fairly for their work.
The incident has sparked debate with some observers noting that Spice Diana has now started facing professional challenges following her split from longtime manager Roger Lubega, a thing which such payment disputes were rarely reported.
