13 players at risk of missing Liverpool vs Man Utd as injury update due

Liverpool returns to action on Sunday with its trip to Manchester United.

The Reds are still awaiting confirmation on exactly which players will be available for the Premier League fixture against a team they could leapfrog in the table with a win. Arne Slot is expected to provide a full injury update shortly.

Mohamed Salah became Liverpool's latest casualty when he hobbled off during the victory at Crystal Palace last weekend with a hamstring issue that may have marked his final appearance for the club. But, as revealed on Wednesday, the Egyptian is expected to recover before the end of the season and this summer's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The crucial question for the Reds is whether Alisson can make his comeback, having been sidelined for the past seven matches with a hamstring injury.

With Giorgi Mamardashvili ruled out due to a serious knee injury, third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman stands ready to deputize between the posts once more.

Woodman recently said: "I want Giorgi to be fine and then Ali, the best goalkeeper in the world, to come back fit.

Hugo Ekitike faces an extended spell of rehabilitation after undergoing surgery this week on the ruptured Achilles tendon he sustained against Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.

Conor Bradley will miss the remainder of the season following a knee operation in January, while teenage center-back Giovanni Leoni is also unavailable until the summer after undergoing ACL surgery in September.

Wataru Endo , meanwhile, continues his recovery from the ankle surgery he had in February and returned to training on the grass last week.

In his most recent injury update, Slot said: "Wataru is starting to do exercises outside with the rehab team.

"He is making steps, but he will not be available for United or the game after, but we are hopeful he will play again this season."

Youngsters Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns haven't appeared in the Premier League this season and are unlikely to feature.

For United, Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined through injury while fellow center-half Lisandro Martinez is unavailable due to suspension, with late fitness assessments scheduled for Matheus Cunha and Luke Shaw .
