Anita Among asked to exit speakership race after State House meeting – Reports
Following the meeting held yesterday at State House, chaired by President Museveni, reports indicate that outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Among was asked to quit the speakership race. The reason cited was the controversy surrounding the wealth she has amassed during her tenure as Speaker.
According to a post on his X account, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and the President’s son, has endorsed the current Minister of Defence, Jacob Marksons Oboth, for the speakership. We look at what transpired during the meeting.
