Local Farmers Shine at Annual Harvest to Home Dinner Fundraiser
Guests gather at Wallace State for the annual Harvest to Home Dinner, a showcase of haute-cuisine featuring local agricultural bounty. Supporting Our Farmers Agriplex director Rachel Dawsey highlights the invaluable contributions of local farmers, showcasing the quality and variety of produce sourced locally for the event. From Field to Table Culinary Arts students at Wallace State Community College prepare a gourmet meal using ingredients grown by farmers from Cullman and beyond. Celebrating Local Harvest The event serves as a fundraising effort to support the Agriplex's new Community Hub building, raising over $28,000 this year. Promoting Home-Grown Food Sweet Grown Alabama plays a significant role in the success of the dinner, promoting locally sourced ingredients and supporting Alabama farmers. Community Support Local farmers, including Idlewild Farm, Sullivan Creek Ranch, and Chambers Farm, contribute to the event, underscoring the importance of local agriculture in nourishing communities. Agricultural Partnership The collaborative efforts of farmers, growers, and makers from Cullman and nearby counties showcase the interconnectedness of local food production. Gourmet Selection Watermelons from Clark Haynes Farm, goat cheese from Humble Heart Farm, and peaches from Spradlin Farms are among the locally sourced ingredients that shine at the dinner. Supporting Local Business Sourdough bread from Cullman Bakery and blackberries from The Old Home Place highlight the diverse offerings sourced from local businesses.
