Tension as Karamoja, Teso and Bugisu MPs Remove Anita Among Photos from WhatsApp Profiles

The level of panic among the MPs who had been loyal to the current troubled Speaker, Rt Hon Anita Annet Among, has reportedly reached unbelievable levels, as MPs who have been praising her have decided to remove her photos from their phones.

After returning from Kyankwanzi, almost every newly elected Member of Parliament in Karamoja, Teso, and Bugisu had used the photo of Hon Anita Annet Among as their profile photo on their WhatsApp and Twitter accounts, but from Friday, almost all the MPs changed their profile photos to their own photos or President Museveni’s photos.

Even those who had been pagans are now using the statue of the Holy Mother Mary as their profile photos.

The issues surrounding the extravagant expenditure involving Hon Anita Among are under serious investigation. Yesterday, Friday, the mouthpiece of Hon Anita Among, Hon Justine Namere, the newly elected Woman Member of Parliament for Masaka City, was arrested by plainclothes security operatives for allegedly being indisciplined by demobilising other MPs from attending Hon Jacob Oboth Oboth’s thanksgiving prayer in Mukono.

Hon Namere’s phone calls were reportedly being monitored as she allegedly promised newly broke MPs huge amounts of money if they did not attend the thanksgiving prayer.

Upon her arrest, security is reported to have recovered sacks containing billions of shillings at her house, whose source is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, reliable information reaching our desk indicates that the Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority has been summoned to Plot 1 and directed to carry all clearing documents for imported goods linked to Hon Anita Annet Among.
