NOT YET OVER: Detectives Extend Proper To Anita Among’s Bukedea Radio, School And Hospital

BUKEDEA|URN: ‎Security operatives, including personnel from the Army, the Police CID, and the Internal Security Organization (ISO), continued their search on the properties of former Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among. ‎

‎‎‎On the second day of the search, detectives accessed Anita Among’s properties in Bukedea district, where a search was also conducted at her radio station, a school, and a teaching hospital.‎‎

‎‎The search took several hours, and according to insiders, it is alleged that the detectives were keen to identify the employees of Anita Among’s radio station, Mama Bukedea.”They asked us to provide them with a list of the employees here at the radio, school, and other entities within the complex. But it’s only us junior staff who were around; all those bosses are not here. We told them that we don’t know anything regarding this institution since we are also junior workers,” stated one employee who wished to remain anonymous.

‎‎‎Additionally, it is alleged that the detectives inquired about where the cars belonging to the Anita Foundation were parked and sought information from the drivers. They expressed particular interest in the Bukedea Comprehensive School Bus, but the drivers were not present, and the keys were unavailable.‎‎‎

‎‎According to observations from our reporter, the detectives’ primary interest is to ascertain the facts about the ownership of the Bukedea Comprehensive School Bus, which is alleged to be the parliamentary bus diverted to the school.

‎It is also noted that Anita Among’s Mama Bukedea radio station shares the same frequency of 102.1 MHz with FUFA FM, a station owned by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and primarily based in Kampala. ‎‎

‎‎‎The search continues, with previous searches conducted at Anita Among’s residence in Aputput village, Ae-rere Parish in Kamutur Sub County, her mother’s home in Apopong village in Kolir Sub County, and at the home of her personal assistant, Zipporah Akol, in Obur Ngagor Village in Kolir Sub County.‎‎

‎‎ The search is still continuing and is expected to continue to the residences of Anita Among’s other allies in Bukedea district.

‎Among, who has been the Women Member of Parliament for Bukedea District since 2016, is facing scrutiny as the probe into her financial dealings and alleged corruption while heading the 11th Parliament continues.
