Security Guard Injured as Armed Gang Steals Loaded Rifle in Bushenyi Aggravated Robbery
The Bushenyi territorial Police are investigating a serious aggravated robbery incident that took place in the early hours of 10th June 2026 at Kashenyi SACCO in Kashenyi II Cell, Kashenyi Ward, Ishaka Division, Bushenyi Municipality. The attack happened at about 3:30 a.m. and involved a violent assault on a private security guard who was on duty at the premises.
According to preliminary findings, four unidentified assailants armed with pangas and sticks stormed the SACCO and attacked the guard, who was attached to Global Link Security Services. The suspects reportedly overpowered him during the raid and inflicted injuries before proceeding to steal a pump-action rifle that was loaded with three rounds of ammunition. The attackers then fled the scene with the firearm.
The victim, identified as Karamuzi Aron, a 28-year-old security guard, sustained serious injuries to his head and knee during the attack. He was quickly rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment as he recovers from the assault.
Police responded swiftly after the incident was reported and secured the scene in line with standard investigative procedures. Authorities have since launched a full investigation into the matter, focusing on tracking down the suspects and recovering the stolen firearm.
Security teams are actively pursuing leads to identify those responsible and to establish the motive behind the robbery. Police have also called on members of the public to remain calm but vigilant, urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to report to the nearest police station.
