Morgan Rogers has made feelings clear on joining Man Utd over Arsenal in £100m transfer

Morgan Rogers has previously made his position on Manchester United abundantly clear by declaring "there is no team bigger". The Aston Villa midfielder is among the most sought-after players this summer. Rogers, 23, has emerged as one of Villa's star performers over the past two years, contributing 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season.

That form has inevitably attracted attention from the likes of United and Arsenal, although Villa are expected to demand in excess of £90million for their prized asset. United are considering a potential move for Rogers this summer as they upgrade their squad. Michael Carrick is set to strengthen his midfield and left-wing options, both areas where Rogers is capable of operating, this summer, while Arsenal are eager to recruit a left-winger.

Rogers is familiar with Carrick from their spell together at Middlesbrough and while he is comfortable on the left flank, he could also represent a long-term replacement for Bruno Fernandes centrally.

Sky Sports France now claims that the Red Devils have approached Villa to explore a potential deal, while the Gunners are reported to have contacted his representatives.

However, the England international's earlier remarks, having described United as a bigger club, suggest he may favour a switch to Old Trafford over the Premier League champions should it come down to a direct choice between the two for his signature.

Speaking back in December, following Villa's 2-1 victory over United in which he bagged both goals, Rogers said: "It's massive. Every game is important, there's no bigger team than United.

"They came here to play, they're a tough team to play against and we've not had a great record against them recently so we knew we had to put it right and we're happy with the three points."

Rogers is said to be keen on departing Villa for a fresh challenge this summer. However, with the club having secured Champions League football, he is not actively agitating for an exit.

When quizzed recently on whether transfer speculation had affected his performances on the pitch, the playmaker told The Rest Is Football: "I think the first time it ever happened it was [impactful].

"You're in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you're not quite realising that. But as you get older and gain experience along the way, you know that comes with it and 95 per cent of it is just noise.

"You hear it, course you do. You can't help not. You know it's there but you've got to use it in a positive way. You just try and get on with your game and just focus."
