Robbery suspect sentenced to 17 years
A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of aggravated robbery.
The High Court at Kasese presided over by Justice Lawrence Tweyanze heard that on October 26, 2025, in Kathoma Village, Buhuhira Sub-county in Kasese District, the convict, Willington Mbusa, allegedly attacked and robbed a businessman who was returning home from his daily work.
Mr Mumbere Ronald has taken own plea of guilty over six charges for aggravated Homosexuality and Human trafficking in person in Kihalimu cell in kasese municipality.
In the same case, the court acquitted the second accused, Mr. Raymond Mumbere, after the victim testified that he only identified the first accused person during the incident.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after the court session yesterday, defense lawyer Counsel Geoffrey Chan Masereka of Masereka & Co. Advocates said his client received a lenient sentence due to his early guilty plea, which spared the court time and resources. Counsel Chan speaking………
