Rev. Fr. Mathias Kwehangana Urges Christians to Support Church Leaders
Christians have been encouraged to support their church leaders for the advancement and growth of the church. Rev. Fr. Mathias Kwehangana of Kabale Diocese made this appeal during the thanksgiving ceremony of Christ the King Parish catechist Maximiano Tushabomwe, held at his residence in Kigongi Central Division, Kabale Municipality.
Fr. Kwehangana emphasized that blessed are those who refrain from opposing church leaders, as this hinders the spread of the Gospel. He cautioned against taking sides in church disputes, citing God’s commandment to “love one another” (John 13:34).
The reverend father stressed the importance of unity among Christians for the betterment of God’s work. He expressed concern over some Christians personalizing God’s work and competing for positions in the church, seeking to succeed their leaders.
During the ceremony, Julius Tukahirwa and his wife, Doreen Champeire, baptized their daughter, Brianah Ainemani.
