Rickman Manrick Names Jose Chameleone and Joshua Baraka Among Uganda’s Greatest Musicians
Singer Rickman Manrick has listed Jose Chameleone and Joshua Baraka as some of the greatest artists the country has ever produced.
In a post on his X account, Rickman noted that after Moses Radio, Fred Masagazi, Paul Kafeero, Elly Wamala, Herman Basude, and Bongole Lutaaya, he thought Jose Chameleone and Joshua Baraka are the greatest musicians in Uganda.
The post sparked a huge debate, receiving a lot of criticism from Rickman’s fans who thought otherwise.
Some acknowledged that Joshua Baraka was indeed talented, but since he was new in the industry, it was too soon to name him among the greatest artists.
Terming himself the music prophet, however, Rickman expressed his strong admiration for the ‘Wrong Places’ hitmaker, insisting that he would soon win a Grammy Award.
When asked where he ranks himself musically, Rickman Manrick explained that he, together with many other artists, is among the creative artists but nowhere close to Jose Chameloeone and Joshua Baraka, who he described as extraordinarily talented.
