I live with my husband’s four wives & 18 kids under one roof, we all have the same name too – it’s not confusing at all
JASMINE Yahweh has never been one for conventional relationships – monogamy simply doesn’t work for her, so her current situation suits her down to the ground.
Indeed when she first met her husband, Yahweh Poetic, 10 years ago, she already knew that he had another wife and was delighted.

Jasmine says that they not only love their husband but they all love each other too
Between the five women there are 18 children, and Jasmine says they all get on well
In fact it was her that then introduced another woman, Paige, into the relationship.
Over the next three years, two more women came to live with them, so there are now five wives and 18 children, some from previous relationships and others with Yahweh Poetic, all under one roof.
And far from their family being complete – they’re open to more wives joining, though they don’t want another man.
The huge family of 23 live together in an eight-bedroom house in Florida and the sleeping arrangements are fluid – sometimes all five wives and Yahweh Poetic will bed down together, other times the wives might have separate date nights with each other.
They don’t plan where everyone is going to sleep and see how they feel on the night. They pool finances but Jasmine undertakes the massive task of the day to day running of the house – including the school run.
ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY
Jasmine, 33, who has five children, two from a previous relationship, explains, “It works on every level.
“We are all in love with each other, all the wives have sexual relationships and friendships as well as our relationships with our husband, our kids are all content and love the arrangement and we are one very big but very happy family.
“We know that however we end up sleeping, anything that happens is loving and connected.

“There’s no jealousy and no one ever feels left out.”
The family all use the name Yahweh before their first name to signify their commitment to each other as they can’t legally get married.
It consists of husband Yahweh Poetic, 39, who has two children from a previous marriage, Debash, 42, who has three children, with Yahweh Poetic.
Jasmine and Paige, 32, who had two children previously and has gone on to have twins, Madi, 29, who had a previous child an is trying to conceive with Yahweh Poetic at the moment and Krystal, 36, who had two children from a previous relationship and now has one more with Yahweh Poetic.
The children range in age from 20 to one and they all live together and share finances.
REJECTING MONOGOMY
Jasmine – who’d previously had open relationships - met Yahweh Poetic online through Facebook.
She explains, “He’s a musician and I loved his music and he reached out to me. He was always very honest and told me he had a life partner but they were looking to add to their arrangement.
“He also told me that they wanted more than just one other equal partner – which I was happy about.
“We went on a few dates before he introduced me to Debash. I was so nervous when I met her as I really wanted her to be comfortable with me joining them.
“Thankfully we hit it off immediately and within months we were all living together.
"I am fairly unique among my friends in that I don’t have a jealous bone in my body and I feel that the more people you love and are loved by the better your life will be.
“With monogamy I always felt as though something was missing, this way I have a big family and community.
“I introduced Paige into the arrangement a year later – I knew her through mutual friends as we were bought up in the same place.”
WHAT IS BIGAMY AND IS IT LEGAL IN THE UK?
Bigamy, or the act of marrying more than one spouse, is illegal in most Western cultures including in Britain.
Most commonly, neither the first nor second spouse know about each other - but even if permission is granted from the first for their partner to marry the second, it is still illegal without a divorce.
Anti-bigamy laws were first established in Ancient Rome and spread throughout Christendom.
In early modern history around the 16th Century male bigamists were subjected to harsh punishments such as execution, exile and lengthy prison sentences.
Now in the UK bigamy is a crime under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 and is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Over the next three years the other women joined after Yahweh Poetic met them online.
Jasmine explains, “We all make the choice about whether they will definitely fit in with our lives. Madi and Krystale both did, they’re amazing women.
“We haven’t ever had anyone join who we have had to ask to leave, thankfully, because we take a lot of time before accepting someone into our family – just like with any marriage.”
A WELL-OILED MACHINE
On a practical note the family runs like a well-oiled machine, with a Whatsapp group which is pinging all the time.
Jasmine takes charge of day-to-day life and the pooled finances – with so many people the bills are astronomical - they spend £800 a month on their gas bill alone.
She says, “The other four women wanted to go out to work, they work in jobs as varied as pharmaceuticals to hospitality, and I’m happy to stay at home and do the jobs like the school run and looking after the younger ones.
“But if they’ve got a day off or are working an evening shift then of course they’ll help me out. And we have businesses together one is called King Yahweh Fashions where we produce everything from clothes to jewellery.
“We eat together in the evening and we usually do a buffet for the younger children, then they’ll watch a movie and we have a strict bedtime of 8.30pm for them. Then we have another dinner for the older kids.
“We each have one day a week to make dinner – mine is Tuesday, though because Madi is a great cook she does three nights.
“We also have one day a week when we do laundry and other chores.”
ALL VERY SATISFIED
Their husband Yahweh Poetic travels regularly with his work in security and music, but when he’s at home the wives welcome him back with open arms, they feel no need to have another man in the family – as Jasmine says, “We are all very satisfied in every way! Wherever you land that night is where you land.”
She adds, “There are various rooms set up with bunkbeds for the kids – one for the boys and another for the girls.
Some of the youngest children still sleep in with their mums, it just depends. At the moment we’re renting a house while we look for the perfect property for a growing family, so nothing is set in stone.

“The kids all get on really well. And we all look after all of them, my eight year old son was convinced that he had two biological mothers as he’s so close to Debash – all the babies born into our family have only ever known multiple mums and I think it’s beneficial for them to experience more love around them.
“And the older children have chosen to stay living at home.
“And though people might worry about the school age children getting bullied because of our alternative lifestyle, they aren’t. If anything it makes them more popular as people are so interested in it.
“Our families approve too. My mum comes to hang out with all of us, she sees all the children as her grandchildren, though she jokes that we shouldn’t have more as buying presents is so expensive.
"And when we go out people are intrigued and amazed rather than critical.”
While the family is already huge they’d love to add more women into the dynamic. Jasmine says, “They’d have to special though.
“They need to be open minded, positive, intelligent, love kids, loyal and of course family has to be their priority. We don’t want anyone coming in and ruining our happy family.”
