Police Officer Arrested in Tororo over Alleged Extortion

Police Constable, Nsubuga Ronald has been arrested in Tororo for alleged discreditable conduct and extortion of money from members of the public and shopkeepers.

According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi South region police spokesperson, the arrest was undertaken on 3rd June, 2026 and recorded under SD Ref 56/03/06/2026 at Tororo CPS.

He days during preliminary interrogation, Nsubuga was found to be attached to the Emergency Response Unit and a habitual offender, having previously been arrested and charged with similar offenses.

Mugwe says the officer is in detention at Tororo CPS pending further investigations and is currently under suspension.
